Javier Badillo is a Venezuelan/Canadian film director, producer, screenwriter, animator, musician and entertainment business entrepreneur.
After running an independent DIY record label and touring with his punk rock band for a few years, Javier moved to Canada in 2002 to make movies.
In 2005 he founded Spitshine Flicks, an independent film and animation production house and in 2010 he helped start False Creek Films, a Stereo3D film venture.
Javier has worn multiple hats in over 80 short films, music videos, commercials, corporate videos, and feature films. He brings his experience and passion to Raindance with the goal of connecting indie filmmakers with resources and establishing a sustainable, independent film industry in the region.
Javier stays busy developing feature films, shooting short movies and walking on a tight rope, figuratively speaking. He is part of a growing online community, anchored by his personal website at www.javierbadillo.com. You can follow his tweets at @Javier_badillo
