Launching Early 2012
Welcome to Raindance Windsor-Detroit!
For many years, Windsor has talked about developing an infrastructure great enough to attract film producers from across Canada and the world. Independent local filmmakers and entrepreneurs recognize the potential of the Windsor region therefore they began working together to put Windsor on the global map by sending out the message that this is destination for filmmakers. We are honoured that Raindance Windsor-Detroit is one of the newest addition to Raindance family and the only chapter to bridge an International border.
Raindance Windsor-Detroit’s goals are to maximize the growth of local services, programs, talent and infrastructure. As a non-profit organization dedicated to education and development of film, digital media and the creative arts in Windsor/Essex County and Detroit, we will provide real world education, develop membership, and will nurture network connections to the film industry.
Moreover, Raindance Windsor-Detroit will operate out of an old bingo hall on Ouellette Avenue in downtown Windsor that is currently undergoing renovations. The building will function as the Raindance Centre, housing dozens of local filmmakers, designers, artists and entrepreneurs from various backgrounds.
Raindance Windsor-Detroit was recently accepted by The City of Windsor Council for its Capitol Improvement Program (CIP) where it will benefit from reduced property taxes which in turn will allow the organization to “pay-it-forward” to all tenants that are dedicated to the growth and nurturing of the film, digital media and creative arts.
Join us in our pursuit to make Windsor-Detroit the place to be!
Marianne Jeney, Director

On the set of Baby Blues in fall of 2006, the minute the camera rolled on this Windsor-made indie film, it solidified for Marianne what she was born to do. After completing school at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan in 2006 and moving back to Windsor, she quickly aligned herself with local and international filmmakers cultivating an eclectic and creative network that continues to grow. For Marianne, being a member of the Raindance Windsor-Detroit team has provided an opportunity to help organize the region’s creative energy and to reach out in the community through resources such as Raindance International and Raindance Canada.
Marianne’s credits include Baby Blues and Nara, as well as a variety of short films that include The Cello, Not Like You and most recently Little Brother. In 2010, Marianne produced Nara, an indie horror film with Splice Productions, which went on to be festival favourite in the Mississauga and Hamilton Film Festivals. Her credits also include producer’s assistant, production coordinator and script supervisor. She’s currently working Frenzy Films, Kickstand Entertainment, NAFTC Studio, Peerless Productions, Rocky Mountain Picture Company, Splice Productions and The Dot Film Company. Thanks to the many people she has collaborated with over the years Marianne has learned quickly how to apply her creativity and business sense to the art of filmmaking. Moreover her passion for filmmaking has only become stronger. Marianne recently graduated with her Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor. She also holds an M.A. in Communications and Media Arts from Wayne State University, and a B.F.A. in Visual Arts from the University of Windsor.
